Leanne Kenworthy

(Manager, Dog Handler)

Leanne originally worked in the children’s services industry overseas and in Australia for 16 years and decided to take the wonderful opportunity of owning and managing K9to5 in 2009. Being a lifelong animal lover she was able to fulfil her dream of working with dogs every day.

Leanne soon found that the same principles that applied to children also applied to her canine companions.

The principles are:

• Set boundaries and rules in turn creating a safe and secure environment
• Offer a entertaining and educational environment to ensure minds are kept stimulated
• Always being patient, calm and assertive
• Practice unconditional love everyday

Whoever said you should never work with animals and children?! They clearly did not know how much fun and love they are missing out on.

Holly Jenner

(Assistant Manager, Dog Handler)

Holly is the Assistant Manager at K9to5 and has been working with us since the beginning of 2010. In 2010, Holly left the corporate world to pursue her interests and a career in the animal industry. She has since gained experience working in the Mobile Dog Grooming Industry, commenced Companion Animal studies part time and has recently completed a Pet First Aid course with Leanne at Challenger TAFE to develop new skills and knowledge. Holly is also passionate about animal welfare & has volunteered at the RSPCA. She has two beautiful dogs of her own; Princess the Chihuahua X and Buffy the Alaskan Malamute.

Charmaine Cayeux

(Dog Groomer, Dog handler)

In 2007 Charmaine began training in the dog industry in Artistic Style Cutting; a rare and sought after style of grooming that requires a lot of scissoring and the ability to visualise.

Charmaine has studied cert IV in Companion Animal Studies and is currently studying Vet Nursing part time through AVT. She comes from an animal passionate family; her dad is a retired jockey and a retired member of the RSPCA. Charmaine joined the K9 to 5 team in 2009 and has further developed her skills in understanding and communicating effectively with dogs. Charmaine is passionate about sharing her knowledge with our clients and helping them build an understanding relationship with their pets.

Natika Waylen

(Dog Groomer, Dog handler)

Natika started her dog grooming career in 2007 where she trained at Vet West, Wanneroo. She eventually made the transition to running her own mobile dog grooming business in 2008.Natika joined the K9to5 team in 2009 and has been honing her valuable skills as groomer ever since. Natika also helps out as dog handler in our day care service. You can also leave the sentence in about her owning her border collies but take out the sentence; She specialises in medium to large dog breeds.

Suzanne Phillips

(Animal Therapist, Dog Handler)

One of our part time dog handlers Suzanne, grew up on a farm in Tasmania where her dad rescued dogs sometimes 18 dogs at a time, much to her mums horror as she had six children to contend with! Suzanne has spent most of her life working with animals and is an experienced pet & wildlife educator, animal handler and has a pet obedience training certificate. When Suzanne is not at K9to5 she manages her own human and animal counselling business, Animism. Suzanne is an expert at reading animal energy and pre-empting their behaviour. Problem pets are her specialty and she is passionate about creating better human and pet relationships. Suzanne also assists Alex at Houndstooth studios with her native animal photo sessions involving (but not limited to) bilbys, endangered cockatoos and snakes. K9 to 5 is dear to her as she sees it as an excellent place for socialising our best mates and giving them experiences they love, and to forge the wonderful friendships they make for life.

Bradie Barnsby

(Dog Handler)

Bradie has completed her Certificate IV in vet nursing in 2011 and has been working with us since 2010.

Bradie gained valuable experience as a kennel hand & dog groomer working for Wembley Vets for 2 years and joined our team in 2010. She volunteered at Shenton Park Cat Haven for 4 years and still fosters kittens on a regular basis. Bradie has two cats of her own, six rats and a fish.

Bonnie Kenworthy

(Top Dog)

Bonnie is Leanne & Damien’s much loved 3 ½ year old golden Labrador. Bonnies duties at K9 to 5 include chief treat tester, quality control of all dog treats & toys. Bonnie also likes to assist in meeting and greeting clients and pooches at reception in the mornings and afternoons. Bonnie is Leanne’s wing man on the daily pet taxi journeys to drop her doggy pals at home.
